Lady Choctaws Deliver Stellar Performance Against Miles College

CLINTON, Miss. --- #12 Mississippi College showcased their dominance on April 9th as they cruised to a commanding 9-1 victory in game one before winning game two 10-1 over Miles College at the MC Softball Complex.

MC wasted no time, tallying three runs on two hits, highlighted by Kam Eaton's triple and Emily Rigney's single up the middle to bring Jenny Griggers home.

Miles managed to put their first run on the board in the third inning courtesy of Ginia Hall's single. Nevertheless, the momentum swiftly swung back in favor of the Choctaws as they continued their offensive onslaught. MC piled on two more runs in a decisive inning, with Eaton and Griggers both delivering singles to extend the lead to 5-1.

The Choctaws didn't ease off the gas, adding four more runs in the final two innings. Jordan LaFosse, Shelby Samples, Madison Sinclair, and Brookelyn Cannon contributed to the offensive barrage.

In the circle, Brookelyn Cannon put on a stellar performance, pitching four innings, allowing only one run, and striking out four batters.

Kam Eaton led the charge at the plate for MC in game one, racking up three hits and two runs. The Choctaws disciplined approach was evident as they generated seven walks while striking out zero times.

MC went on to win game one by a final of 9-1. The MC Choctaws continued their impressive form with another dominant performance in game two against Miles College at the MC Softball Complex.

In the opening inning, MC wasted no time once again, scoring four runs on three hits. Jordan LaFosse's double, Shelby Samples' single, and Jenny Griggers' double all contributed to the early lead, putting the Choctaws ahead 4-0.

MC maintained their momentum, shutting down Miles in the second inning with pitcher Ashley Delany striking out two batters. The Choctaws extended their lead in the third inning with another explosive inning, scoring three runs on one hit, highlighted by Kam Eaton's three-run homer to center field, bringing the score to 7-0.

Miles College managed to get their first hit of the game in the third inning, courtesy of Mikayla Williams' single. However, they struggled to capitalize until the fourth inning when Nesbitt's homer finally put them on the scoreboard.

The Choctaws sealed their victory with a final blow in the fifth inning when Caylee Comer hit her first home run of her MC career, securing a 10-1 win over Miles College.

Pitcher Ashley Delany put on an impressive performance, pitching four innings, allowing only one run, and striking out two batters.

Kam Eaton continued her stellar performance from game one, contributing three hits and three runs scored in game two, adding to her already impressive stats from game one.

Mississippi College improved to 33-6 overall on the season with the two wins. They now look ahead to their upcoming three-game GSC series against Christian Brothers on April 12-13th in the home of Elvis and BBQ, Memphis, Tennessee.

Stat of the Day
MC batters walked 12 times, translating into 14 Runs, alongside 11 Stolen Bases, which accumulated to a total of 17 runs on the day.
