CLINTON, Miss. — The Mississippi College Lady Choctaws (38-6) triumphed in a hard-fought battle on April 19th, securing a doubleheader sweep with a 3-1 victory over West Georgia (18-31) in game one before completing the comeback win in game two by a final of 7-5 at the MC Softball Complex on senior night.

In the second inning, MC continued their offensive momentum with singles from Bailey and Jordan Moore.
Despite West Georgia's comeback in the third inning, where Blaire Bizettte and Makayla Register each secured hits, the game took a decisive turn in the third inning.Â
In the bottom half of the third inning, the Lady Choctaws scored three runs on just one hit, with Jordan LaFosse and Shelby Samples reaching base after being hit by a pitch. LaFosse crossed the plate on a ground ball in the infield by Kamryn Eaton, while Samples later scored on West Georgia's 68th wild pitch of the season, followed by Ashley Lightcap's powerful home run, as MC look a 3-1 lead.Â
Camryn Bailey's stellar performance included six strikeouts and a complete game, allowing only one run while also contributing two hits in three plate appearances.
The Lady Choctaws went on to clinch a 3-1 win over West Georgia in game one.
In an electrifying showdown in game two, MC emerged victorious with a 7-5 comeback win over the Lady Wolves. Despite West Georgia's early lead with four runs in the first inning, MC retaliated in the second inning with a run scored off Shelby Samples' triple.
Madison Jenkins took over pitching duties, striking out two batters and holding West Georgia hitless in the second inning.Â
Down 5-1 in the sixth, MC unleashed a barrage of six runs on six hits after not scoring since the first inning. McCall Lee's single, Kamryn Eaton's powerful shot to left field, Ashley Lightcap's single, Jenny Griggers' single, and Madison Jenkins' single all contributed to the Choctaws surge.
