Mississippi College Spring Game Showcases New Era Under Coach Kershaw

CLINTON, Miss. — The Mississippi College Choctaws unveiled a glimpse of their future under the leadership of first-year head coach Mike Kershaw in Saturday's Spring Game at Robinson-Hale Stadium.

In a spirited matchup pitting offense against defense, the Choctaws treated a sizable crowd to an exciting display of football, with the offense emerging victorious in a 30-24 triumph over their defensive counterparts.

Coach Kershaw expressed satisfaction with the performance of both units, emphasizing the team's objectives heading into the game.

"I was very pleased with the way both sides of the ball played in the Spring Game," said Kershaw. "We wanted to accomplish a couple of things Saturday: play at a very high tempo, cut out the self-inflicted wounds, and stay healthy. We did all three."

The game not only provided a platform for evaluating player development and team chemistry but also served as an opportunity for fans to witness the new direction of Choctaws football.

"The Spring Game is a chance for our players to showcase their hard work and dedication," Kershaw remarked. "It's also a chance for our fans to get a taste of what's to come."

With the conclusion of the Spring Game, the focus now shifts to the summer program as Mississippi College prepares for fall camp. Under Coach Kershaw's guidance, the Choctaws aim to build upon the positive momentum generated during spring practices and translate it into success on the gridiron.
