MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- Mississippi College completed the sweep on Saturday, defeating Christian Brothers with final scores of 6-5 in game one and 3-2 in game two.
In the second game of the series, MC took an early 3-0 lead in the fifth inning on a three-run homer by
Jordan LaFosse, scoring
Jordan Moore and
Jenny Griggers.
McCall Lee followed with a two-run home run, extending the lead to 5-0, before
Kamryn Eaton added a home run to left centerfield to make it 6-0.
Despite CBU scoring five runs in the seventh, MC held on to win 6-5.
Brookelyn Cannon earned the win, pitching 6.2 innings, giving up seven hits, two earned runs, and striking out four, moving to 11-3 overall on the season.
In game two, Mississippi College fell behind 2-0, but rallied with three runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by an RBI single by
Emily Rigney and a two-run homer by
Jordan LaFosse, securing a 3-2 victory.
Camryn Bailey got the win, pitching a complete game, giving up four hits, two runs, and striking out nine. She improved to 19-3 overall in the circle of the season. Mississippi College improved to 36-6 overall and 18-6 in GSC play.
They will face West Georgia in a three-game conference series starting on Saturday, April 20, with a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. at the MC Softball Complex in Clinton, Mississippi.
