ALBERTVILLE, ALA. — #24 Mississippi College and the entire program made history on Friday afternoon, securing their 900th win in program history with a commanding 13-0 victory over Miles College.
The milestone win was a testament to the dedication and hard work of both current and former players, coaches, and supporters of the MC softball program.
The game opened with MC taking an early lead in the first inning, with McCall Lee's triple bringing Jordan LaFosse home for the first run of the game. From there, MC continued to pile on the pressure, scoring multiple runs in the second and fourth innings.
Emily Rigney proved to be a standout player for MC, hitting a home run and driving in four runs. McCall Lee also contributed significantly with a triple and two RBIs.
Pitcher Ashley Delany led the charge on the mound for the Choctaws, shutting out the Miles offense over five innings and securing the win.
On the other side, Miles struggled to get their offense going, managing only two hits throughout the game. Pitcher M. Harris took the loss after giving up 11 runs in just two innings of play.
