Mississippi College Track and Field is gearing up for the 2024 Gulf South Conference Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, at the Birmingham Metro Crossplex. Events start on Thursday, February 15, with the Men's 5,000m at 1:30 PM C.T., and will conclude on Friday, February 16, with the Women's 4x400m relay at 3:40 PM C.T.
The men enter as the reigning champions, while the women enter as the reigning runner-ups.
At last year's championships, the Choctaws garnered 11 individual titles - eight on the men's side, and three on the women's side. The returning reigning champions include Cole Benoit (Men's 1-mile), Jan Lukas Becker (Men's 3,000m & 5,000m), and Ben Woolhouse(Men's Pole Vault).
Mississippi College is represented at the top of the GSC rankings in six events: Grayson Foster in the Men's 400m, Cole Benoit in the Men's 800m, Lauren Wallace in the Women's 800m, Jan Lukas Becker in the Men's 5,000m, the Men's 4x400m relay, and the Women's Distance Medley Relay.
Tickets for the GSC Indoor Championships can be purchased online, and the entirety of the two-day meet will be streamed live on FloSports. Live results are also available. Parking is 10 dollars per car.
After the GSC Indoor Championships, selected Choctaws will look forward to competing at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas, on March 8-9, just after the outdoor home opener on Saturday, March 2.
