HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team dropped its second Gulf South Conference affair of the season as it fell 81-54 to the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Thursday, Dec. 19. MC moves to 7-4 on the season and 3-2 in conference play.

Tiara Abron and Tytavia Buckley paced the Blue and Gold in scoring in the contest. Abron led the way with 12 points while Buckley, who led the team with four rebounds, chimed in 11 points. MC shot 38.0 percent from the field, but managed just 8-for-16 from the charity stripe, and totaled 21 rebounds.

The Choctaws let one quarter dictate the outcome of the contest. Trailing by only three points after the opening 10 minutes, the Blue and Gold was outscored 26-7 in the second stanza and stared at a 22-point deficit at the intermission. MC matched the Chargers point-for-point in the third period, but it couldn't overcome the early struggle.

UAH had four score in double figures, led by Haley Nichols with 18 points. Bella White paced the Blue and White on the glass with 10 rebounds. The Chargers shot 50.9 percent from floor in the victory and connected on all, but two of its attempts from the charity stripe. It also held a plus-22 advantage on the glass. Â

Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 20 as it travels to Livingston, Ala., to face the University of West Alabama. Tip-off is 2 p.m. in Pruitt Hall.
