CLEVELAND, Tenn. — The Mississippi College men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw against Lee University in a Gulf South Conference matchup on Sunday. The result brings the Choctaws' record to 7-4-2 overall and 4-3-2 in conference play.
The match saw both teams exchanging leads, with Lee striking first in the 34th minute when Daniel Garvilla netted his second goal of the season. The Choctaws responded quickly, leveling the score just before halftime. Santi Diosa delivered a precise assist to Jayce Dotson, who found the bottom center of the goal in the 87th minute, securing the equalizer for Mississippi College.
The Choctaws took a brief lead in the second half when Dotson scored again, this time assisted by Diosa, pushing Mississippi College ahead 2-1 in the 86th minute. However, Lee's Garvilla was not finished, and he leveled the score again just before the match ended.
Mississippi College finished the match with seven total shots, four of which were on goal, while Lee recorded 11 shots with three on target. Goalkeeper Cole Turner made one save while allowing two goals over nearly 88 minutes of play. Lee's Jakob Buhrkuhl recorded two saves.
