BOSTON, Ma. – Mississippi College's distance runners will travel to Boston University to compete in the prestigious and world-renowned John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday, Jan.26, and Saturday, Jan.27.
Jan Lukas Becker, a 5-time Gulf South Conference Champion and owner of the school records in the 3,000m and 5,000m events, is set to compete in the Men's 5,000m run. Becker aims to secure a national qualifying run at this highly competitive event. Cole Benoit, a 2-time Gulf South Conference Champion and a national qualifier in the 3,000m run, will showcase his skills in the men's 3,000m run. Carson Smith will represent the blue and gold in the men's 1-mile run, seeding into a competition with a 4:13 personal best.

On Saturday, the Women's DMR team and 3,000m school record holder Emily Berry double back and compete in their respective events. Jazmin Russell, Taylor Benoit, and Lauren Wallace will participate in the Women's 1-mile run, while Bre Bell and Emily Berry will compete in the Women's 3,000m run.
KEY NOTES
- Mississippi College logged 16 personal records and two event wins a week ago at the Samford University Open.
- Furthermore, the Choctaws added seven performances to the Mississippi College Indoor Track and Field Top-10 lists, totaling 36 for the season thus far.
- At this meet last year, Becker, the reigning NCAA DII 10,000m National Champion, broke the Men's 5,000m school record at 13:47.00, which still holds today.
- Cole Benoit and Bre Bell are coming off of 5,000m wins at the Emory Crossplex Showdown two weeks ago in Birmingham, Alabama.
- Emily Berry broke the Women's 3,000m school record at this same track two months prior at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
