LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The anticipation builds as Mississippi College's cross country teams prepare to compete in the prestigious 22nd Annual Live in Lou Classic, hosted at the Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. The event, renowned as one of the largest meets in the South, is set for an exciting competition this year, with both the Choctaws' men's and women's squads ready to make their mark in the Gold Division.

The action kicks off bright and early, with the men's 8K Gold race scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. start, followed by the women's 5K Gold race at 10:15 a.m. Fans can catch every stride on FloTrack, which will stream the entire meet live (subscription required).

The Choctaws are entering the event on a high note, carrying the momentum from their last outing at the 2023 Southern Stampede. Both teams clinched top-five finishes, with the women bagging a fourth place and the men a commendable third place at the event that served as a preview to the nationals course. Bre Bell's stunning performance led the women's team as she clinched the individual title. On the men's front, the team was spearheaded by the five-time GSC Champion Jan Lukas Becker, who secured a fifth-place finish.

As the Choctaws gear up for the Live in Lou Classic, they have their sights set on facing off against national caliber competition. The event will see them lock horns with top-tier teams including Adams State University, Grand Valley University, and inter-conference rivals Lee University.
