Memphis, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Christian Brothers in GSC play this Friday evening (September 22
nd).
          Â
The Lady Choctaws and Lady Buccaneers started the game quietly and defensively as no shots were tallied at all from either team until
Avery Hederman and
Kaylee Foster produced attempts at goal in the 15
th and 16
th minute, respectively. However, one minute later, CBU's Lia Haggstrom placed a shot past the MC defense and was their only shot of the opening 45 minutes compared to the Lady Choctaws five in the first half.
        Â
In the second half, both the Lady Choctaws and Lady Buccaneers' defenses bent some, but did not break as both teams were able to generate shots on offense in the second half (seven for MC and six for CBU), but no goals were generated off the plethora of chances. Additionally, only one corner kick was taken all game and was by MC in the 41
st minute. Only two yellow cards were issued, and both were against Christian Brothers, however, a red card was assessed to Foster just seven minutes before the match's conclusion.
          Â
For the Lady Choctaws, it was their first defeat against Christian Brothers since 2014 and first time overall that they fell on the road to the Lady Buccaneers in program history.
