Jackson, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 victory over Union University this Sunday afternoon (September 24
th).

The lone goal of the match came in just the second minute when
Margherita Giubilato placed a ball just under the crossbar off a free kick taken just outside the box for her second goal of the season.
The chances were plentiful all game, however, as the two squads combined for 24 shots in the 90 minutes. MC led this margin 14-10 with an 8-4 advantage with on target shots as well.

Jessi Carro in goal for the Lady Choctaws collected four saves on the afternoon and was good for her second clean sheet of the season. Each team took five corner kicks each and the only card of the match came in the 80
th minute from Union's Amelia Goehring.

The Lady Choctaws (3-2-1, 2-2 GSC) responded with a win from Friday night's loss and now must wait until next Friday, September 29
th, for their next match.
The contest against Delta State starts a three-match homestand for both Mississippi College soccer squads. Kickoff at Robert P. Longabaugh Field against Delta State is set for 1 p.m. CT.
