CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College showcased a dominant performance against Tougaloo, winning 10-1 in non conference play on Tuesday.
The scoring spree began early in the match when Joshua Davies found the net in the 10th minute, courtesy of a precise assist from William Janous. The momentum only built from there.
By the 13th minute, MC had doubled their lead. Jayce Dotson put away a penalty kick, notching his first of two goals for the evening.
Dotson struck again in the 20th minute, this time with assistance from Lawson White, further expanding MC's lead.
As the first half continued, Max Buesch was the next to find the scoreboard. He netted two goals before halftime, in the 29th and 39th minutes, both with assists from William Janous and Miguel Quevedo respectively.
MC's streak went uninterrupted until Brady Jacobs scored unassisted in the 49th minute. Lawson White, who had earlier assisted Dotson, took his turn to be the goal scorer in the 67th minute after a beautiful setup by Jacobs.
Tougaloo's lone glimmer of hope came a minute later when Artur Silva broke through MC's defense to put his team on the scoreboard.
Yet, the night belonged to Mississippi College. White netted his second of the night in the 74th minute, followed by Jackson Earle, who notched another penalty kick for MC in the same minute.
The final goal of the evening came from Mason Morgan in the 77th minute, with an assist from Colton White, sealing the victory for Mississippi College.
MC moves to 5-1-1 overall on the season and will play Christian Brothers on Friday evening at 7 p.m. in Memphis, Tenn.
