TAMPA, Fla. --- Mississippi College opened up regional play of Thursday afternoon at the Tampa Regional, ultimately falling to Alabama Huntsville (UAH) by a final score of 5-1.

However, UAH quickly responded in the bottom of the first inning. A sacrifice bunt by M. Cartron brought home Lawren Hayes, leveling the score at 1-1.
The game remained tightly contested until the fourth inning after a double to left-center resulted in two RBIs, pushing UAH ahead.
They continued their offensive onslaught with a triple down the left-field line, driving in another run. A subsequent single by L. Hayes added to UAH's lead, bringing their total to five runs.
Despite their best efforts, Mississippi College struggled to mount a comeback against UAH's pitching and defense.
Mississippi College recorded five hits in the contest, with Jaycee Dill leading the team with two hits. They displayed determination and fought hard throughout the game, even though the result didn't go in their favor.
Looking ahead, Mississippi College will return to the field tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. CST. They are set to face Tuskegee in an elimination contest in the Tampa Regional.
