CLEVELAND, Miss. --- Mississippi College took down Delta State on Monday afternoon in GSC play, with the #19 men's team winning 5-2 while the #16 ranked women dominated their way to a 7-0 win.
The men jumped up to a solid start from the beginning, picking up all three doubles court wins with

Felipe Iser winning 6-3 at #1 and
Alvaro Saint Martin/Matia Ballatore getting the #2 court win 6-3 as MC took a 1-0 lead.
In singles play, Sabio won in two set, 6-2, 6-4, at #2 singles as MC went on to win court 4-6 with
Antoine Nivault winning court four in two sets (6-4, 6-2) and
Felipe Iser getting the win at court five, 7-6 (4), 6-3.Â
Brady McDaniel picked up the automatic win at court six as the #19 Choctaws went on to win the match by a final of 5-2.Â
On the women's side, MC continues to roll on the courts, picking up wins in all three doubles courts and all six singles courts. In doubles,

Gabrielle Geolier defeated Caride/Pope at #2 singles, 6-4, and
Maria Rodriguez/
Anna Valiaeva winning court three 6-1 to go ahead 1-0 in the match.
Cota put MC up 2-0 with a court two win in singles play, winning 6-1, 6-2. Alas and Valiaeva gave MC the clinching match points with wins at #1 and #4 singles as both won in two sets (Alas def. Subias, 6-1, 6-3; Valiaeva def. Repe, 6-3, 6-0) as MC took a 4-0 lead.Â
Geollier (Def. Caride, 6-3. 6-3), Rodriquez (Def. Rooks, 6-0, 6-0), and
Elena Roberts (Def. Chacon, 6-2, 6-0) closed out the match winning at #3, #5-6 singles, giving MC the 7-0 sweep over Delta State.
With the wins, the men improve to 10-5 overall on the season and 4-1 in GSC play while the women improve to 14-1 and 5-0 in GSC play.Â
Both programs return to action at home on Thursday, March 30 versus Auburn Montgomery in GSC action. Both teams will take the court beginning at 2 p.m. at the MC Tennis Complex.Â
