CLINTON, Miss. --- In a battle of nationally ranked teams, Mississippi College split with the Lee Flames on Saturday with the #16 Lady Choctaws winning 6-1 over #38 Lady Flames, while the #19 ranked men fell 4-3 to #14 ranked Lee in GSC play.
The Choctaws also had the chance to honor its four seniors after the matches concluded, with the men honoring
Brady McDaniel and Hsiang Yi Wang while the women honored
Anna Valiaeva andÂ
Anna Didkovska.
The men took and early 1-0 lead over the Flames in doubles play, winning courts one and three as

Antoine Nivault won at court three by a score of 6-2.Â
Jarvis won at #3 singles, 6-1, 6-3, while
Brady McDaniel got the court win at #6 singles, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (7), yet the Flames got wins at #1-2, 4-5, to take the 4-3 win.
On the women's side, the Lady Flames got the first win at #2 doubles, yet

In singles, MC dominated, winning courts 2-6 as
Emma Roberts gave MC a 2-0 lead after winning court two 6-2, 6-1. Cota followed at court three with a 6-1, 7-6 (3) win,
Gabrielle Geolier at #4 with the court four win (6-2, 2-6, 6-2), while Valiaeva (6-1, 6-2) and Rodriguez (6-0, 6-4) got wins at #5 and #6 singles to give MC the 6-1 defeated over the Lady Flames.Â
The men fell to 9-4 overall on the season with the loss and 3-1 in GSC play as the women improved to 12-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
Both teams head to Cleveland, Miss. on Monday to take on Delta State. The Choctaws and Statesmen take on each other beginning at 2 p.m. on the campus of Delta State.
