HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- Mississippi College's second half effort came up five points shy on Saturday evening at UAH, falling by a final score of 71-66 in Gulf South Conference play.
MC was outscored in the first half by ten points, as the Choctaws trailed 41-31 at the break. In the second half, MC utilized a stronger offensive attack to outscore UAH 35-30 in the final 20 minute period, tying up the game at 60-60 with 4:48 left in the game.Â
UAH went on to close out the final 5 minutes on a 11-6 stretch, claiming the tight five point win, as the Chargers improved to 19-6 (14-5 GSC) on the season.
The Choctaws shot 25-of-61 from the field and out rebounded UAH 39-34, while also finishing with 32 points in the paint.Â
Galen Smith tallied a team-best 21 points on the night, while also bringing in nine rebounds and one blocked shot.Â
Tradavis Thompson had a stellar night with 19 points and three 3-pointers made. He also ended the night with three rebounds and two assists.
Miles Miller had a team-best four assists on the night while also contributing six points and tied Smith with nine rebounds.Â
Bee McCrary had nine points and tallied four assists to tie Miller with a team-high in assists on the night.Â
Mississippi College falls to 12-12 overall on the season with Saturday's loss and 8-12 in GSC play.
The Choctaws return to action on Thursday night at home where they host Lee. Both teams are set to tip it off beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the A.E. Wood Coliseum.
