CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College continued their winning ways on Sunday, defeating Shorter in game three by a final score of 10-2 in five innings.
The Lady Choctaws completed the series sweep after wins of 8-0 in game one and 3-2 in game two on Friday.
Trailing 1-0 over the top half of the first inning,
Brooke Fagan put MC on the board with a solo home run to centerfield, tying the game up at 1-1.
In the second inning,
Kamryn Eaton doubled to centerfield, scoring
Jordan Moore as MC took a 2-1 lead. Shorter tied the game up at 2-2 in the third inning but a two run double by
McCall Lee in the third inning once again put MC on top 4-2.
MC plated three runs in the fourth inning and three more runs again in the fifth inning, handling their business, on their way to a 10-2 five inning win over the Lady Hawks.
Camryn Bailey (8-1) picked up the win in the circle, her eighth of the season, going 2.2 innings with no runs allowed, one hit given up and one strikeout.
MC improved to 12-4 overall on the season and 4-2 in GSC play after the series sweep. They return to action on Saturday, March 4, for doubleheader action on the road at Miles. The teams take the field at 1 p.m. in Pleasant Grove, Ala.
