PITTSBURG, Kan. — The stage is set for Mississippi College Track and Field to compete in their third outing of the 2023-24 Indoor Track and Field season, the Crimson and Gold Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.
The event willt 10:30 AM (C.T.), though the first event for the Blue and Gold will be 12:00 PM, which is the Men's Weight Throw.
Mississippi College Track and Field is coming off of successful outings at the BSC IceBreaker in Birmingham, Ala. and Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, Ma., in which the Choctaws added 15 performances to the program Top-10 lists across several events. Spearheading that charge was distance dynamo Emily Berry, who re-broke her own 3,000m school record in 9:54.32, an NCAA Division II provisional standard.

PRE-MEET NOTES
- This outing marks the first time Mississippi College Track and Field has ever competed at the Crimson and Gold Classic.
- The last time the Choctaws competed at the Pittsburg State facility was the 2023 Wendy's Pittsburg State Invitational, in which the the Blue and Gold broke three school records. Niklas Klei's Men's 400m school record of 46.92 and Kelechi Christian's Women's 60m dash record of 7.60 still stand.
- Evan Wrights(Men's 800m), Grayson Taylor(Men's 200m & 400m), Brodie Ezell(Men's WT), James David Miller(Men's WT), Jake Keesee(Men's WT), Taylor Benoit(Women's 800m and 1 mile), Emily Berry(Women's 3,000m), Bryan Puckett(Men's SP), Bre Bell(Women's 3,000m), Braedon Methvin(Men's 3,000m) are all athletes who added performances to the program Top-10 lists that are in the lineup this weekend.
