CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball finished its week of action with its second consecutive Gulf South Conference sweep with a win over Christian Brothers University as MC improved to 11-14 overall and 9-6 in the conference.

The victory, which is the sixth straight in the series, completed a regular-season sweep of the Buccaneers (2-24, 1-13 GSC) for the Blue and Gold as it rallied to top the visitors from Memphis on their home floor in five sets.

Caroline Chastang and
Lydia Paulette garnered double figure kills to the lead way. Chastang paced the squad with 12 on the night while Paulette totaled 10.
Ali Wiggins and
Caylin Pixley piloted the offensive effort as they combined for 33 of the team's 35 assists. Wiggins dished out 17 dimes while Pixley added 15.

Londyn Bakeris led the team with 12 digs on the defensive end and added a team-best three service aces. For the second straight night,
Sloane FitzHenry, who was one of three seniors honored pre-match, added three total blocks.

The Choctaw dominated sets one and three of the match as the lead changed hands once in each frame. MC held as much as a 14-8 advantage in the opening set, after the two teams stood deadlocked at 3-all. CBU pulled to within one point, 16-15, but the Blue and Gold closed out the set on a 9-5 run to take a 1-0 lead.

In the second, the Bucs raced out to a 7-1 lead, but found themselves deadlocked at 10-10 a few points later. The two squads exchanged advantages and ties until the Blue and Gold closed out the frame on back-to-back kills from Chastang and
Julia Sumrall. The teams stood in nine stalemates during the game and saw the lead change hands four times.

Much like the previous set, CBU jumped out early as it held a five-point lead, but the Blue and Gold rallied to knot the contest at 11-all. MC strung together a 10-3 run to take a commanding lead before it completed the sweep with a 25-18 victory in the final frame.

The Choctaw posted a .175 attack clip in the match as it totaled 41 kills. The Red and Black became the second opponent to hit in the negative for the match as it recorded a -.066 percentage. The University of West Alabama hit -.076 earlier this season also in A.E. Wood Coliseum. CBU notched 18 kills – the fewest since UWA's 17 on Sept. 29.
