CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College defeated Shorter on Friday by a final score of 2-0 to pick up their 10th win of the season.
The first goal came at the 25:28 mark, with Yamato Fujishima finding the back of the net to give MC the early 1-0 lead.
Just over a minute later, at 27:09, Guilherme Santos extended MC's lead with a goal of his own to make it a 2-0 lead.
The Choctaws held the score at 2-0, with Carlos Viquez helping with the clean sheet in goal, with one save, as MC went on to win 2-0.
Mississippi College outshot Shorter 16-1, with 7 shots on goal. The MC defense held strong, allowing only one shot on goal from the opposing team.
Guilherme Santos contributed both a goal and three shots on goal. Yamato Fujishima, who scored the opening goal, also had an impressive performance with two shots, while Luke Fanstone provided an assist along with Max Buesch picking up an assist.
MC moves to 10-1-2 overall on the season and 8-0-2 in GSC play. They return to action on Sunday at 3:30 with senior day versus Lee in Clinton, Miss.
