Korock Named Gulf South Male Golfer of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- Mississippi College's Ethan Korock earned Gulf South Conference Male Golfer of the Week as announced by the conference office on Thursday, Oct. 19. This marks the first award for Korock.

Korock paced the Blue and Gold with a 212 over the two days at The Hrncair in Duncan, Okla. The junior finished one stroke back of the top three and three strokes back of the tournament champions, Rudy Sautron of Cameron and Breckin Franklin from Dallas Baptist University. He posted back-to-back scores of 68 and 67 over the first two rounds - both under par for each round - and closed out his tournament with a 77 on the final day. He birdied 14 of the 54 holes, including four of the last seven in the second round and four of the last five in the opening round. His 67 in the second round is his lowest round of the season while his 212 for the tournament is his best three-round score during his first season with the Choctaw.

The Jonestown, Texas, native is one of three Choctaw linksters to garner the conference's weekly honor as he joins former Choctaws JJ Logue (3/16/23, 3/23/23) and Force Choi (3/4/21).

Mississippi College returns to action on Monday, Oct. 23 as it travels to the Peach State for the University of West Georgia hosted, Matt Dyas Invitational.
