Korock Leads Men's Golf at The Hrncair

Korock placed seventh; Choctaws finished 11th

DUNCAN, Okla. --- The Mississippi College men's golf finished in 11th place at The Hrncair hosted by Cameron University at the Territory Golf Club in Duncan, Okla., Monday, Oct. 16 through Tuesday, Oct. 17. The Choctaw shot a team score of 913 over the three-round tournament.
 
Ethan Korock paced the Blue and Gold with a 212 over the two days. The Jonestown, Texas, native finished one stroke back of the top three and three strokes back of the leaders, Rudy Sautron of Cameron and Breckin Franklin from Dallas Baptist University. The junior posted back-to-back score of 68 and 67 over the first two rounds and closed out his tournament with a 77.
 
Rohan Miah finished in a four-way tie for 51st with a score of 231. The Horsham, England, product shot a 75 in the second round – his lowest round of the tournament – as he sandwiched it between scores of 78 in the opening and closing round.
 
Alexander Topgaard was the third highest finisher for the Choctaw during the tournament as he finished in a two-way stalemate with Cameron's Cole Luber for 64th. The junior from Copenhagen, Germany shot an 80 in his first round and closed out his action with an 80 in the final round. He fired his lowest round of 75 in the second round to wrap up a score of 235.
 
Jeff Lebeau and Caleb Butler concluded scoring for the Choctaw. Lebeau finished in 71st with a score of 239. He shot a 76 in the first round and followed it with an 84 in the second round. He compiled a 79 in the final round on Tuesday. Butler finished in 75th with a score of 247. He opened the tournament with an 84 and shot his best round in the second with an 80. He wrapped up his tournament with an 83 in the final frame.
 
The University of Texas at Tyler took the team title with an 862. Oklahoma Christian University finished in second with an 863. DBU and Midwestern State University finished tied for third with an 871.
 
Mississippi College returns to action on Monday, Oct. 23 as it travels to the Peach State for the University of West Georgia hosted, Matt Dyas Invitational.
