LIVINGSTON, Ala. --- Mississippi College improved to 7-2-1 overall and 6-2 in Gulf South Conference play on Friday evening, defeating West Alabama by a final score of 2-1.
Caroline Naman made her mark early in the game, scoring the first goal at 64 minutes and 54 seconds, with an assist from Margherit Giubilato.
MC extended their lead when
Erin Hederman found the back of the net at 81 minutes and 58 seconds, assisted by the team collectively. This second goal gave MC a comfortable advantage at the time.
UWA mounted a comeback when Mikayla Anderson scored their first and only goal at 83 minutes and 3 seconds, assisted by Paige Laidler.
MC dominated in shots, taking 14 shots with 8 on target, while UWA managed 5 shots with 2 on target while
Jessi Carro had a clean sheet with 1 save on the evening.
The Lady Choctaws return to action on Sunday where they take on UAH on the road beginning at 1 p.m. in Huntsville, Ala.
