Giubilato Helps Lead MC Past West Alabama 3-0

CLINTON, Miss.--- The Mississippi College women's soccer team knocked off West Alabama 3-0 on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 25th). Margherita Giubilato picked up a brace in the contest with two goals, plus Erin Hederman added the first goal of the contest as well. The Lady Choctaws improve to 7-2 (4-1 GSC) on the year with the win, while UWA falls to 4-4 (3-2 GSC).

Erin Hederman struck first in the 20th minute as she scored from just outside the box. Ashton Storey played the ball in to Hederman who put a shot into the back of the net to give MC the 1-0 lead. The goal marks the ninth of the season for Erin Hederman, which leads the team.

Margherita Giubilato then doubled the lead with her first goal of the contest in the 28th minute. Avery Hederman played the ball forward, and Erin Hederman flicked it backwards off her head on to the run of Giubilato. Giubilato got past the UWA backline and beat the keeper 1v1 to push the lead to 2-0.

Giubilato then added another in the 32nd minute off of a rebound to push the lead to 3-0. It was a great team goal for MC with a strong buildup.
