CLINTON, Miss. --- On Wednesday, July 13, the United States Track and Field and Cross Coaches Association released its 2022 All-Academic Athletes. Mississippi College placed 10 student-athletes on the organization's list.
In order to achieve this accomplishment, one had to record a provisional mark in either an individual or relay event, as well as maintain a university GPA of 3.25 or higher.
For the Spring semester in 2022, the Mississippi College track and field program had eight men and two women that were inducted, tallying a total of 10 athletes representing Mississippi College Track and Field on the NCAA Division II Academic All-American team, two more than last year.
The student-athletes that made the 2022 NCAA Division II All-Academic team are listed below:
"I'm proud that we have a program of coaches, athletes, and administration that take academic success as seriously as they take athletic success," said head coach Matthew Reneker. "The model program in NCAA D2 is to foster a balanced approach to academic pursuits and athletic competition. These ten student-athletes have figured that difficult balance out and are an inspiration for those looking to do likewise."
