Raymond, Miss.--- Mississippi College men's and women's Track & Field teams competed at the Hinds Community College Relays on Wednesday, April 6th. The Choctaws picked up five event titles.
Breann Bell finished first in the women's 1500m run with a PR time of 5:15.58. She was followed closely by
Caroline Dooling who finished second in the event with a personal best time of 5:19.97.
Shelby Dean and
Caroline Perry both finished in the top four as Dean ran 5:23.45 to finish third and Perry ran 5:25.50 to finish fourth.
The Choctaws also picked up the event title in the men's 1500m as
Chris Webber picked up the title with a time of 4:13.00.
Elijah Araya finished second in the event with a time of 4:16.06.
Hollis Johnson also finished on the podium with a time of 4:18.70 to finish third. MC also rounded out the top five as
Caleb Hall finished fourth with a time of 4:19.14 and
Adam Gomez finished fifth with a time of 4:22.44.
MC had the full list of top finishers in the women's 800m as well.
Emily Berry led the way with a time of 2:25.08 to finish first.
Ava Dickerson finished second with a time of 2:27.25.
Lauren Wallace (2:28.16 in third),
Norma Gutierrez (2:33.16 in fourth), and Dean (2:44.01 in fifth) rounded out the group in the top five.
It was more of the same for the Choctaws in the men's 800m.
Preston Speed picked up the event title at 2:00.42. Johnson followed closely behind in 2:01.49 to finish second. Araya finished on the podium again as he finished third with a time of 2:04.05.
Todd McInnis finished seventh with a time of 2:14.84.
Ben Woolhouse also finished first in the Pole Vault as he cleared a height of 4.45m.
Ryleigh Borbash set a new PR in the Long Jump with a distance of 4.67m as she finished third.
Adrianna Burage also PR'd in the event as she finished fourth with a distance of 4.46m.
Burage and Borbash both finished on the podium in the High Jump as they both tied for third by clearing 1.47m.
Brynn Holbrook finished third in the Triple Jump with a distance of 10.10m. She also finished fourth in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 16.45 seconds.
The Choctaws will be back in action this weekend at the Lee Invitational in Cleveland, Tenn. The meet starts on Friday, April 8th.
