CARROLLTON, Ga. -- The Mississippi College softball team fell in the final game of this weekend's Gulf South Conference series at West Georgia by a final score of 14-2 in five innings of play.
The Lady Wolves jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run home run before adding to their lead in the second inning with a five run spot, taking a 7-0 advantage after two innings.
UWG further added to their lead in the third inning, scoring six runs to go up 13-0 over the Lady Choctaws. With one more run in the fourth inning for UWG, MC trailed 14-0 heading into the fifth inning.Â
MC put together a two-run inning in the fifth on three hits, including an RBI single for
Brooke Fagan and an RBI ground out to third by
Jaycee Dill, that scored Fagan from third.
UWG punched the final out in the fifth, closing out the game with a 14-2 win in game three, as the Lady Wolves took the series sweep over Mississippi College.
Mississippi College finished with seven hits in the game and were led by
Brooke Fagan with two hits on the game, with a run batted in, and run scored.

Alexis Laughlin each tallied a hit in the contest, with Laughlin scoring a run.Â
Mississippi College falls to 22-20 overall on the season and 12-15 in Gulf South Conference play after this weekend's setback.Â
Due to a scheduling conflict for Miles College, Mississippi College's road game at Miles set for tomorrow in Birmingham, Ala. has been cancelled. Mississippi College will return to action on Saturday for the final home series of the 2022 season versus Union Univeristy.Â
Game one of the three game series will begin at 2 p.m. at the MC Softball Complex in Clinton, Miss. on Saturday, April 30. Senior Day festivities will take place on Sunday, May 1 at the MC Softball Complex prior to Sunday's first pitch, set for 2 p.m.
