CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- Mississippi College fell to Lee on Sunday afternoon in Gulf South Conference play by a final score of 75-50.
In the first half of play Mississippi College jumped out to a 7-5 lead in the first three minutes of action on a
Galen Smith layup with 17:50 on the clock.
The Flames over the next four minutes went on a 12-0 run to claim a 17-7 lead over MC with 13 minutes remaining in the half.
Lee closed out the first half of action leading by 19-points by a score of 41-22 over Mississippi College at the break.
After being outscored 41-22 in the first half, MC was outscored 34-28 in the second half of play, falling to the Flames by 75-50.
The Choctaws had one scorer with double-digit points on the night with
Galen Smith leading the way with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Smith also led MC with seven rebounds.
Tradavis Thompson tallied nine points in 35 minutes on the court while
Justin Reid produced eight points on 3-of-5 shooting. Reid also collected five total rebounds.
Miles Miller led the team with four assists while also leading the Choctaws with two steals in 33 minutes played.
MC was 17-of-52 from the floor, posting 28 points in the paint with 21 points scored from the bench.
The Choctaws fall to 8-5 overall on the season and 5-5 overall in GSC play with Sunday's loss. The Blue and Gold return to action in 2023 on January 2, where they take on Delta State back at home beginning at 7:30 p.m.
