MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- Mississippi College's
Lexie Laurendine was selected to the 2022 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Region Volleyball Team, as announced by the association on Thursday, Nov. 17.

The accolade is the first for any Choctaw in program history since returning to Division II.

Laurendine helped guide the Choctaw to their best season in program history with a 23-7 mark and the No. 3 seed in the Gulf South Conference Tournament.

The Clinton, Miss., native etched her name into the volleyball record book as she stands the all-time assists leader with 2,881 and is one of three MC players to earn all-conference three consecutive years, as she claimed first team laurels this season.

She concludes her career ranked in the top 10 in the program in nine categories, including sets (480) and matches played (128) , service aces (135), points (964.5), digs (1,054), kills (750) and block assists (117). She currently stands fifth in the GSC in assists (711) and sixth in assists per set (6.0) as a setter, but is fourth in the league in hitting percentage (.324) and finishes first in triple-doubles (2), a category she led the conference in in five seasons on the floor.

Along with her success on the court, she is also a four-time GSC Academic Honor Roll selection. She received her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in May 2022 and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Athletic Administration.

She is one of seven players from the conference named to the 14-member list and joins members from the University of West Florida and the University of Montevallo from the conference.
