VALDOSTA, Ga. -- The Mississippi College (4-10, 2-6 GSC) Choctaws fell to Valdosta State (9-7, 5-4 GSC) on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 87-70 in GSC play.
The Choctaws had a good start to the first half, outscoring the Blazers 36-35 in the first 20 minutes of play, to take a one-point lead into the break.
Valdosta State went on to control the second half of the contest, scoring 52 points and holding MC to 34 points in the last half. Valdosta State pulled out the win defeating MC by a final of 87-70.
MC shot 28-of-67 (41.8 percent) from the field with 38 points in the paint and 25 points off of the bench. The Choctaws were led by three scorers with 10+ points including
Lamont Berzat with 15 points scored.
Galen Smith had 13 points and a team best eight rebounds.
Tradavis Thompson had 13 points of 5-of-14 shooting, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals
Mississippi College falls to 4-10 and 2-6 in GSC play with tonight's loss to the Blazers. MC returns to competition on Thursday night back at home versus Lee. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at A.E. Wood Coliseum.
