CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's cross country team opened the 2021 season with a win in The Opener Sponsored by Chick-fil-A on Friday, Sept. 3 at Choctaw Trails. MC's top seven runners finished within the top 10 led by
Jazmin Hernandez in second place.

Hernandez posted a time of 19:10.00 as she was sandwiched between a pair of Division I Alcorn State University runners.

Madeline Campbell finished fourth in the meet with a time of 10:24.9 followed by
Emma Langley in fifth place as she turned in a time of 19:31.6.
Emily Berry paced a quartet of Choctaw runners claiming the seventh through 10th spot.

Berry clocked a time of 19:55.0 followed by
Lauren Wallace (19:56.3),
Josie Whipp (19:56.6) and Bre Bell (19:59.4).

William Carey finished second in the team standings followed by Alcorn in third. Millsaps took fourth with Blue Mountain rounding out the top five spots.

Runelda Jackson led the way in the individuals with a sub-19:00.00 time of 18:57.0. Her teammate Daisy Enriquez was third with a 19:18.9.

Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, Sept. 10 as it travels to Florence, Ala., for the University of North Alabama Invitational.
