Women's Tennis Takes Down Montevallo, 5-2

CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team returned from a two-week layoff and picked up a 5-2 win over Montevallo on Saturday afternoon at the MC Tennis Complex.

The Lady Choctaws (2-4, 2-2 GSC) won all three doubles matches to grab an early point and picked up 4-of-6 singles wins over the Falcons (3-8, 1-4 GSC).
 

MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 5, MONTEVALLO 2

DOUBLES ACTION
  - The Lady Choctaws won each of the three doubles matches easily, including a 6-2 win by Paulina Cota and Maria Rodriguez at #3.
  - The #1 and #2 doubles teams each won their matches by scores of 6-3.

SINGLES ACTION
  - The Lady Choctaws then opened singles play with a win by #2 Ely Alas, only dropping one game over the sweep (6-0, 6-1).
  - The Falcons got a point back before Anna Didkovska won the #3 match by a score of 7-5, 6-4.
  - After Montevallo got another point, Fernanda Cota won the match-clinching point with a 6-2, 7-5 win at #5.
  - Maria Rodriguez finished the match with a three-set victory at #6 (6-1, 3-6, 6-2).


NEXT UP
  - The Lady Choctaws are scheduled to be back in action on Wednesday (April 7) at 2:00 p.m. against Blue Mountain.
