CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Lee University on Friday afternoon at Butler Field.
The Lady Choctaws (16-18, 12-13 GSC) fell in the opener by a score of 8-3, while the Lady Flames (16-18, 13-13 GSC) came back late to get an 11-3 victory in the nightcap.

GAME ONE: LEE 8, MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The game was scoreless through two innings, but the Flames broke through in the third on a two-run single from Taylor De Adder.
 - They would add three more runs to take a 5-0 lead after three innings.
 -
McCall Lee answered back on the first pitch of the 4th inning with a solo home run, her sixth of the season, to cut the score to 5-1.
 -
Morgan Bradford followed that up with a two-run home run to get MC back in the game at 5-3.
 - The Flames came back, however, with two more runs in the 5th and one in the 6th to give the game its final score.
KEY STATS
 -
Jordan LaFosse led the MC offense with a pair of hits, while Bradford drove in two runs.
 -
Avery Sanders (9-12) took the loss in the circle, allowing seven hits and six earned runs over 4.0 innings.
 - Annalyn Ornsby led Lee with two hits and three RBI.
 - Madison Barnett (6-5) gave up six hits with eight strikeouts over the complete game effort.

GAME TWO: LEE 11, MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 3 (6 Innings)
HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The Lady Choctaws struck first in the second game as
Rayne Minor single, stole second and scored on an RBI single by
Brooke Fagan in the 1st inning.
 - The Flames took the lead in the 3rd with two runs and a solo home run in the 4th gave them a 3-1 advantage.
 - MC answered in the 5th with two runs, starting with an RBI double from Minor that scored
Annemarie Peavy.
 - The Lady Choctaws loaded the bases and Fagan drew a walk to bring home
Gracie Trahan and tie the game at 3-3.
 - MC did leave the bases loaded, however, in the inning, and the score would remain tied.
 - The Flames opened the game up in their half of the 5th with five runs, aided by four hits and an MC error.
 - They would then put the game away in the 6th with three runs to get the run-rule victory.
KEY STATS
 - Minor led the way with two hits, while Fagan drove in a run and had two RBI along with two walks.
 -
Avery Barnett (7-5) took the loss in the circle, giving up seven hits and four earned runs over 4.1 innings.
 - Kayla Louie led the Lee offense, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored, while De Adder and Laney Harris each drove in three runs.
 - Gracie Leslie (4-5) grabbed the win for Lee, allowing just one walk over the final 1.2 innings.
