MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team extended their season with a 4-1 win over Lee University in the quarterfinals of the Gulf South Conference Tournament, held at the O'Connor Tennis Center.
The Lady Choctaws (9-6) will now face #7 West Florida in the semifinals on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Lagoon Park.

DOUBLES ACTION
 - The Lady Choctaws jumped out to a quick lead as
Kennedy Rodriguez and
Alisa Morozova picked up a 6-3 win at #3.
 -
Ely Alas and
Fernanda Cota clinched the opening point with a 6-3 win at #1 to send MC to singles play with a 1-0 lead.
SINGLES ACTION
 - The Flames grabbed their point with a win at #3 as Morozova was forced to retire after dropping the opening set.
 - MC took over from there, however, starting with
Paulina Cota cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 win at #1.

Maria Rodriguez followed that up with a 6-2, 6-1 win at #5 to put the Lady Choctaws within a point of victory.
 - Alas clinched that victory with a 6-3, 6-4 win at #2 and sent MC to the semifinals.

NEXT UP
 - MC will face nationally-ranked West Florida in the semifinals, who took down Christian Brothers in the quarterfinals.
 - The Lady Choctaws and Argonauts met back on April 11th in Pensacola with UWF winning, 6-1.
