CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team celebrated "Senior Day" with a 4-3 win over #23 Auburn Montgomery on Saturday afternoon at the MC Tennis Complex.
With the win, the Lady Choctaws (7-6, 5-4 GSC) can clinch the #3 seed in next week's GSC Tournament with a Sunday win over Shorter.

DOUBLES ACTION
 - It was the Warhawks that took the early lead with the doubles point, winning 2-of-3 matches.

Ely Alas and
Fernanda Cota were able to get a win at the #1 match by a score of 7-6 (8-6).
SINGLES ACTION
 - The Lady Choctaws roared back in singles play, winning three straight matches to take a 3-1 advantage.
 -
Fernanda Cota won the #3 point by a score of 6-3, 6-3, while Alas won the #2 point by a score of 6-1, 6-4.
 -
Maria Rodriguez followed that up with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 win at #4.
 - The Warhawks were able to get a point back at #6 with a straight-set win.
 - The clinching point came down to the #1 match where
Paulina Cota prevailed in three sets over Sofia Navarro (4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4)).

 - The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. when they host Shorter.
 - With a victory, MC would be the #3 seed in next week's GSC Tournament.
