CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to #23 Auburn Montgomery on Saturday afternoon at the MC Softball Complex.
The Lady Choctaws (15-14, 12-10 GSC) fell in the opener by a score of 9-3, while the Warhawks (28-5, 18-5 GSC) won the nightcap by a score of 5-2.

GAME ONE: #23 AUBURN MONTGOMERY 9, MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The Lady Choctaws jumped out to the early lead, scoring three runs in the 3rd inning to grab a 3-0 advantage.
 -
McCall Lee singled home a run, while
Brooke Fagan and
Jordan LaFosse also drove in runs to put MC ahead.
 - AUM roared back and outscored the Lady Choctaws 9-0 over the final four innings.
 - Margaret Morgan got things started in the 4th inning with a two-run home run, while Jaycie Walker's two-run home run in the 5th gave AUM the 4-3 lead.
 - The Warhawks scored three more in the 6th, including Walker hitting another two-run home run.
KEY STATS
 - The Lady Choctaws were only able to muster four hits in the contest.
 -
Avery Barnett (7-3) took the loss in the circle, allowing eight hits and four earned runs over 5.0 innings.
 - Cydney Sizemore (4-1) got the win for AUM in relief, allowing just one hit with five strikeouts over the final 4.0 innings.
 - Parker Pinholster and Morgan each had three hits for the Warhawks, while Walker hit two home runs with four RBI.

GAME TWO: #23 AUBURN MONTGOMERY 5, MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The Warhawks jumped out the early lead in nightcap, scoring single runs in the 1st and 2nd innings to grab a 2-0 advantage.
 - AUM added three more runs in the 5th inning, getting two of them by way of a bases loaded hit-by-pitch and walk.
 - The Lady Choctaws were able to break through in the 6th inning with a pair of runs, including an RBI single from
Paige Hulin.
 - MC was able to load the bases in the 5th and 6th innings but they could not push across any more runs.
KEY STATS
 - Bradford, Hulin and
Rayne Minor each had two hits in the game, accounting for six of MC's seven base knocks.
 -
Avery Sanders (8-10) tossed all 7.0 innings for MC, giving up eight hits and five earned runs with six strikeouts.
 - Alanna Goble (10-1) struck out 10 and gave up just one earned run over 5.1 innings to get the win.
 - Brinkley Yevak earned her second save of the year by getting the final five outs in the circle.
 - Kendall Tucker had a team-high three hits for the Warhawks.
