Choctaws Snap Skid in 5-2 Win Over Spring Hill

CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's tennis team recorded a much-needed win with a 5-2 victory over Spring Hill on Tuesday afternoon at the MC Tennis Complex.

The Choctaws (2-10) snapped a nine-match losing streak with the win over the Badgers (2-9).
 

MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 5, SPRING HILL 2

DOUBLES ACTION
  - It was the Badgers that jumped ahead in doubles action, taking the #1 and #2 matches to grab the early 1-0 lead.
  - Joe Jarvis and Brady McDaniel were able to give MC a victory at #3 by a score of 6-3.

SINGLES ACTION
  - The Choctaws were able to cruise through singles play, however, winning 5-of-6 matches in straight sets.
  - The Badgers struck first with a point at #4, but MC would not fall again in the victory.
  - Jarvis got things started with a 6-2, 6-3 win at #3, while McDaniel won the #2 match by a 6-2, 6-2 score.
  - Matias Ballatore gave MC their first lead of the day with a 6-2, 6-4 win at #1.
  - Shane Samyn clinched the match for the Choctaws with a 6-1, 6-2 win at #5.
  - Maksym Konovalov put the result away in the final match, winning the #6 point by a score of 6-1, 6-2.
 

NEXT UP
  - The Choctaws are scheduled to be back in action on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. when they host Lee at the MC Tennis Complex.
