Lady Choctaws Come Up Just Short at Christian Brothers, 4-3

MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team battled back but came up short in a 4-3 loss to Christian Brothers on Saturday afternoon at Memphis University School.

The Lady Choctaws (0-2, 0-1 GSC) split the six singles points against the Lady Bucs (5-0, 3-0 GSC), but CBU won the doubles point to stay unbeaten on the season.
 

DOUBLES ACTION

  - The #2 doubles team of Anna Didkovska and Alisa Morozova picked up a 6-2 victory.
  - The Lady Bucs won the other two matches by scores of 6-1 (#1) and 6-3 (#3) to clinch the opening point.
 

SINGLES ACTION

  - CBU jumped out to a 3-0 lead with wins at #1 (6-0, 6-0) and #5 (7-6(2), 6-2).
  - The Lady Choctaws began the comeback trail as Didkovska won the #3 point by a score of 6-4, 6-3.
  - Then Maria Rodriguez picked up the #6 victory with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 triumph to cut the overall score to 3-2.
  - Fernanda Cota made things interesting after a three-set win at #4 (3-6, 6-3, 6-2) to knot things up at 3-3.
  - The Bucs prevailed however with a three-set win at the #2 position.
 

NEXT UP

  - The Lady Choctaws are scheduled to be back in action on Monday (Mar. 8) when they host Ouachita Baptist at 2:00 p.m. at the MC Tennis Complex.
