CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team will play for the Gulf South Conference Spring Championship Series Tournament title following a 2-1 win over West Alabama on Sunday afternoon at Arrow Field at Clinton High School.
The Lady Choctaws will face Lee in the championship match on Saturday (April 3) at noon at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The Tigers had the first scoring opportunity of the match in the 3rd minute as MC committed a foul in the box and gave UWA a penalty shot.
 -
Sara Maleski came up big with a save on the initial shot and then made another save on Anele Komani's second shot to keep the game scoreless.
 - The half appeared to be ending scoreless, but MC struck in the final minute as
Beatrice Currie found
Erin Hederman to give the Lady Choctaws a 1-0 advantage.
 - Hederman tacked on another in th 59th minute as
Lindsey Stephenson played a ball into the box and Erin finished for the 2-0 lead.
 - Both squads had multiple chances, but MC took the 2-0 lead into the final 10 minutes.
 - The Tigers got on the board in the 81st minute as Paige Laidler scored after Maleski made another save on the intial penalty kick chance.
 - The Lady Choctaws would hold on for their second 2-1 win over West Alabama this season.
KEY STATS
 - The Lady Choctaws had 13 shots to six for the Tigers, with MC putting seven on goal and UWA putting all six on net.
 - Maleski made a season-high five saves, including stopping a pair of penalty kicks.
 - Hederman led MC five shots and three on goal, while Stephenson, Currie and
MaryElla White had two shots apiece.
 - Komani had a team-high three shots for West Alabama.
