MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 8, SHORTER 0 (5 INNINGS)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  - The Lady Choctaws wasted no time scoring the eventual game-winning run as Rayne Minor singled, stole second and came home to score on a pair of groundouts.
  - MC would take a 3-0 lead after an inning thanks to an RBI double from Shelby Carlson and a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch from Gracie Trahan.
  - Trahan drove in another run in the 3rd and came home to score in a three-run inning to extended the lead to 6-0.
  - Annemarie Peavy singled home a run in the 4th and the Lady Choctaws sat just one run away from the run-rule victory.
  - Trahan left no doubt as the leadoff hitter in the 5th, sending a ball over the left-center field wall for her second home run of the season.

KEY STATS
  - Trahan led the offense with a pair of hits and three RBI, while Jordan LaFosse went 2-for-2 with three runs scored.
  - MC had nine hits overall from seven different batters, while five different players scored runs.
  - Avery Sanders (6-8) gave up just two hits and struck out three over her second shutout in as many days.
  - Madison Pettigrew (2-6) took the loss for Shorter, giving up five hits and five earned runs over 2.1 innings.
