CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team cruised to a Gulf South Conference Spring Championship Series Tournament win over rival Delta State, 6-0, on Sunday afternoon at Arrow Field at Clinton High School.
The Choctaws (5-0, 4-0 GSC) scored a season-high in goals and ended the season for the Statesmen (1-6, 1-4 GSC).

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The eventual game-winning goal was scored in the 20th minute as
Aurele Chemin took a corner kick from
Gonzalo Carrasco and put it in the back of the net.
 -
Pedro Cortes scored in the 40th minute on an assist from
Connor Johnson, who saw his first action of the season, and sent the game into half with a score of 2-0.
 - The Choctaws poured it on in the second half, taking 11 shots to just one for DSU and scoring four times.
 -
Guilherme Santos started things with an unassisted goal in the 55th minute.
 -
Zach Diallo scored in the 80th minute on an assist from
Antoine Recizac and
Aidan Lipovetsky scored on Diallo's assist in the 88th minute.
 - Chemin capped off the scoring in the 89th minute with his second goal of the season.
KEY STATS
 - The Choctaws pitched their fourth shutout of the season, allowing just five shots with two on goal.
 - MC took 18 shots with 10 on goal, led by four shots with three on goal from Cortes.
 - Chemin and Diallo also put a pair of shots on frame.

Alejandro Chavarria made two saves to tally his 13th career shutout.
NEXT UP
 - The Choctaws will advance to the GSC SCS Tournament semifinals where they will face the winner of Christian Brothers and UAH. The time, date and location are to be determined.
