CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team swept both ends of a doubleheader against #13 UAH on Saturday afternoon at the MC Softball Complex.
The Lady Choctaws (5-11, 4-7 GSC) snapped a six-game losing streak in the process, picking up a 7-3 win in the opener before downing the Chargers (12-5, 7-4 GSC) in the second game, 7-1.

GAME ONE: MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 7, #13 UAH 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The Chargers grabbed their first and only lead of the day in the second inning when Alaina Hampton homered and UAH led 1-0.
 - The Lady Choctaws then took advantage of three walks, including a bases-loaded walk to
Paige Hulin that scored
Morgan Bradford and tied the game.
 - The game stayed tied until the 4th when Hulin singled home
Shelby Carlson to give MC the 2-1 advantage.
 - The three-run inning was highlighted by a two-run single from
McCall Lee to score Hulin and
Gracie Trahan and push the lead to 4-1.
 - MC then pushed the lead out to 7-1 with three more runs in the 6th, taking advantage of three UAH errors.
 - The Chargers cut into the lead with a two-run, pinch-hit home run from Laura Harbin, but MC would hold on for the victory.
KEY STATS
 - Lee had a team-high two hits and three runs batted in, while Hulin drove in a pair of runs and scored twice.
 - Trahan also scored two runs, reaching base on two base on balls in the contest.
 -
Avery Barnett (2-2) had her best outing of the season, tossing the complete game and allowing just six hits and three earned runs.
 - The Chargers, who came in hitting nearly .400 as a team, were led by Shelby Booker's two hits in the contest.
 - Layton Murphy (5-3) took the loss, giving up three hits and four earned runs with six walks over 3.1 innings pitched.

GAME TWO: MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 7, #13 UAH 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
 - After two scoreless innings, MC grabbed the lead for good in the 3rd on a two-run double from Lee that scored Hulin and
Rayne Minor.
 -
Jordan LaFosse singled home Lee and the Lady Choctaws had a 3-0 lead after three frames.
 - MC tacked on two more runs in the 4th with theh help of three errors from the Charger defense.
 - The Lady Choctaws scored their final two runs in the 6th on an RBI single from LaFosse and an RBI walk from
Morgan Bradford.
 - The Chargers scored their lone run of the game in the 7th on a two-out RBI single from Booker.
KEY STATS
 - Four Lady Choctaws had multiple-hit games, led by LaFosse with three base-knocks and two RBI.
 - Lee had two hits and two RBI, while Minor and Hulin each had two hits.
 - Minor scored a team-high three runs, while Lee and Hulin each scored twice.
 -
Avery Sanders (3-8) went the distance, striking out a career-high 13 and giving up just three hits and one earned run to the potent Charger offense.
 - Kiara Akles (3-1) took the loss, allowing eight hits and three earned runs over 3.1 innings pitched.

 - The teams will wrap up the series on Sunday when they play at 2:00 p.m. against the MC Softball Complex.
