CLEVELAND, Miss. --- Sophomore
Kaylee Foster clinched Group A of the Gulf South Conference Championship Series with a Golden Goal in the 94th minute to give the Mississippi College women's soccer team a 2-1 win over rival Delta State on Thursday afternoon at Delta Field.
The #12 Lady Choctaws improved to 5-0 on the shortened-season and won their 18th straight GSC regular season contest, also improving to 10-0 all-time against the #20 Lady Statesmen (5-1-1, 3-1-1 GSC).

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - It was DSU that struck first as Nicola Hauk scored an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute to give the home team a 1-0 lead.
 - The Lady Choctaws answered back in the 33rd minute as sophomore
Emma Young headed in her first goal of the season on a corner kick from sophomore
Avery Hederman.
 - The match would go into the half tied at 1-1 and would remain tied through the second 45 minutes, sending things to overtime.
 - In the 94th minute, a DSU yellow card set up a free kick opportunity for Foster, and she connected for the game-winner.
KEY STATS
 - The Lady Choctaws enjoyed the advantage in shots (12-10) on the day, but the Lady Statesmen put four on goal to just three for MC.
 - Young led the way with four shots in the match, while Avery and
Erin Hederman each had three shots.
 - Mia Rameriez and Diana Okechukwu led the Lady Statesmen with three shots apiece.

Ebba Elweroth got her fourth win of the season in net, making three saves and allowing the one goal.
 - Amanda Hilliard made a save while allowing the two goals for DSU.
NOTES
 - The Lady Choctaws improved to a perfect 10-0 against Delta State all-time.
 - MC has won 18 straight GSC regular season matches with their last loss coming on October 25, 2018 to West Florida (1-0).
 - The Lady Choctaws will be the #1 seed from Group A in the GSC SCS Tournament that starts next week.
 - MC will have a bye in the first round before playing on either Saturday (Mar. 20) or Sunday (Mar. 21) against an opponent to be determined.
