JACKSON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team improved to 2-0 in the Gulf South Conference Spring Championship Series with a 1-0 win over Christian Brothers on Wednesday night at Jackson Academy.
The Lady Choctaws (2-0, 2-0 GSC) controlled the pace of play most of the night, outshooting the Lady Bucs (0-1, 0-1 GSC) by a count of 18-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The game remained scoreless over the opening 35 minutes as the Lady Choctaws had a few solid scoring chances go unrewarded.
 - They scored the lone goal of the night from a set piece in the 36th minute as

 - The Lady Choctaws would take the 1-0 lead into the halftime break, despite posting 12 shots with three coming on goal.
 - They peppered the net a little more often in the second half with five shots coming on goal, but they would gladly settle for the 1-0 victory.
KEY STATS
 - The Lady Choctaw defense allowed just two shots with none coming on goal the entire night.
 -
Erin Hederman led the way with seven shots and three coming on goal.
 -
Beatrice Currie had four shots with two on net.
 -
Ebba Elweroth was credited with the shutout, playing all 90 minutes in her first collegiate start.
 - Riley Chafin made nine saves for the Bucs to keep them at just a one-goal deficit.

 - The Lady Choctaws are scheduled to be back at home on Sunday against Union at 2:30 p.m. at Longabaugh Field.
