CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team picked up a stellar pitching performance from
Zack Ingram and posted timely hitting as it secured an 11-1, run-rule victory in the final game of the series against Young Harris College on Sunday, Feb. 9 at Frierson Field at Dickins-Scoper Stadium. The Choctaws evened their record at 3-3 while YHC (3-1) suffered its first loss of the season.

Ingram (1-1) held the Mountain Lions to just one run on one hit in the contest and allowed just four baserunners in the effort. The right-handed senior struck out three and forced 10 ground outs and five fly outs in his first win of the season.

Five Choctaws recorded multiple hits on the afternoon with three adding multi-RBI efforts.
Grant Barber and
George Farid paced the squad with three hits each while Farid added a team-best four RBI.
Chauncey Callier,
Caleb Reese and
Brandon Broussard each added two hits while Callier drove in three and Broussard collected a pair of RBI.

Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, Feb. 14 as it hosts the University of West Alabama in the Gulf South Conference opener. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
>> The Mountain Lions struck the first blow of the game as they scored in the first inning on a throwing error that allowed Tucker Greer to cross the dish from second base. Greer posted a one-out, double earlier in the frame for the team's only hit of the game.
>> After the run in the top of the first, MC responded with 11 unanswered runs to capture the run-rule victory. The Choctaws took their first lead of the series in the bottom of the first with a Farid two-run home run that pushed
Markarius Lee across the dish.
>> Callier extended the lead with a two-run home run on his own in the bottom of the third as drove in
Caleb Reese. The Mobile, Ala., senior notched his third RBI of the game in the fifth with a single as Broussard plated two more later in the inning with a single to left field.
>> Farid collected his third and fourth RBI in the bottom of the sixth with a single through the right side and Reese followed with a sacrifice fly to score
Ken Scott.
>> The final two runs came in the bottom of the seventh as Barber laced a ball down the right field line to score

Samuel Kimel and secure the victory.
