CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College head football coach
John Bland and his staff are pleased to announce the student-athletes have made the decision to join the football program.Â
The signing class included 20 players from five states across the southeast. There are eight student-athletes from the State of Louisiana, five from Alabama and Mississippi, and one each from Georgia and Tennessee.
A breakdown of the roster shows eight on the offensive side of the ball, 10 defensive players and two on special teams. Positionally, the class features four defensive backs, and defensive linemen, three running backs, two quarterbacks, offensive linemen, linebackers and specialists.
Of the 20 signees during the course of the day, there were 17 high school players, a junior college transfer and two four-year transfers. The 19 newcomers join nine mid-year transfers that are already on the Clinton campus.
The program celebrated their 2020 signing class on Wednesday afternoon in Anderson Hall where Coach Bland was joined by the entire coach staff in revealing the new student-athletes. The December signees were present, while faculty, staff and alumni came to help support the football program.
