ARKADELPHIA, Ark. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team closed out the Ouachita Baptist Invitational with a 4-3 loss to Henderson State on Sunday afternoon at the Ward Tennis Center.
The Lady Choctaws fell to 1-3 on the young season, while the Reddies improved to 6-3.

DOUBLES ACTION
 - The Reddies were able to pick up the all-important doubles point with wins at #1 and #3 to take an early 1-0 lead.
 - MC's win came at the #2 position as
Paulina Cota and
Alisa Morozova picked up a 6-3 win.
 - HSU took the #1 victory with a 6-4 win and swept their way to a 6-0 win at #3.

SINGLES ACTION
 - The teams split the six singles matches with the Lady Choctaws grabbing victories at the even positions.
 -
Tori Roberts improved to 4-0 in singles play this season with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #4.
 - Cota grabbed her second victory of the day with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #2, improving her singles mark to 3-1 on the year.
 - The final MC point came from
Carmen Manicea at #6 with a hard-fought, come-from-behind, three-set victory (4-6, 6-3, 7-5).
 - The Reddies, however, got all of the other victories to pick up the win by the slimmest of margins.

NEXT UP
 - The Lady Choctaws have a busy week with three matches, starting with home contests against Alcorn State on Wednesday and New Orleans on Thursday.
 - They will open Gulf South Conference play next Saturday when they host West Georgia at 3:00 p.m. at the MC Tennis Complex.
