Men's Tennis Edged by #25 Southern Arkansas, 4-3

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. --- The Mississippi College men's tennis team gave #25 Southern Arkansas a scare in a 4-3 loss on Saturday afternoon at the Ouachita Baptist Invitational at the Ward Tennis Center.

The Choctaws dropped to 1-3 on the season, while the Muleriders improved to 2-1.
 

DOUBLES ACTION
  - The Choctaws secured the doubles point with wins at #1 and #3, while the #2 match was unfinished since the point had been decided.
  - Ben Jarvis and Maksym Konovalov got things going with a 6-2 win at #3.
  - The French duo of Francois Le Tallec and Shane Samyn clinched a 1-0 lead with a 7-5 win at #1.
  - Matias Ballatore and Carlos Trujillo were knotted at 5-5 at #2 when it was called.
 

SINGLES ACTION
  - In singles play, the nationally-ranked Muleriders scored the first three points with straight-set wins at #2, #4 and #5.
  - Le Tallec cut the deficit to 3-2 with a straight-set win (7-5, 6-3) over Stuart Rehfuss, who is ranked #8 in the Central Region.
  - SAU tallied the match-clinching point at #3 when Yuri Gondoui, ranked 20th in the Central Region, took down Samyn (7-6 (5), 6-3).
  - Brady McDaniel gave the Choctaws the final point of the day with a three-set win over Raymond Marin at #6 (6-3, 3-6, 10-7).
 

NEXT UP
  - The Choctaws will wrap up their time in Arkadelphia on Sunday when they face Texas A&M-Texarkana at 10:00 a.m.
