ARKADELPHIA, Ark. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team pitched their third straight shutout to open the 2019 season in a scoreless draw against Ouachita Baptist on Sunday afternoon.
The Choctaws moved their record to 1-0-2, while the Tigers went to 0-3-1 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The Tigers controlled the offensive game in the opening minutes, producing seven shots with five on goal in the first half.
 - The Choctaws responded in the second half with nine shots, including four on goal to give MC a 14-13 edge in shots over the first 90 minutes.
 - Both teams put together opportunities in the extra time, but neither could find the back of the net.

KEY STATS
 - Junior
Alejandro Chavarria has now gone 310 minutes without allowing a goal to open 2019, making seven saves in the draw on Sunday.
 - Seniors

Owen Connelly and junior
Marco Sellan each tallied a team-high three shots for MC.
 - Matt Day tallied his first shutout of the season, making eight saves over 110 minutes for the Tigers.
 - David Stankovic led all players with six shots, including putting three on net for OBU.
